The Randwick District Rugby Union Football Club and Owen Finegan have parted ways for the 2019 season.
Finegan ends his two-year stint with the Randwick first grade coaching staff having reached the Intrust Shute Shield finals in 2017 and finishing 9th in the 2018 season.
President of Randwick, Bob Dwyer said the Club now needed to approach the 2019 season with a fresh start and resource the program accordingly.
“The decision was made in the best interests of Owen and the Club,” said Dwyer.
“He’s been a loyal servant to Randwick over the years as player, coach and clubman; having played a major role in reconnecting Randwick’s Academy and Junior District Programs to the senior club.
“Owen remains a respected and integral member of the Club’s representative history, and we certainly appreciate all he has done, and hope he will remain part of the fabric of the Randwick Rugby Club for many years to come”
The Club will now look to review its first grade coaching and high performance structure under the guidance of newly appointed Club Coach, Ben McCormack.
