Ruck & Maul - School's out for Phil Kearns

There was some cheeky repartee when All Blacks coach Graham Henry and his Wallabies counterpart Robbie Deans were on stage together during the Hearts in Union luncheon. Some of the best lines included when interviewer Phil Kearns said that in most high schools, boys moved on after year 12. However, in New Zealand schoolboys usually spend three years in year 12. To which Henry replied: ''Then they send them over here to coach the Wallabies.'' Read More>.......

Club Coach Craig Morrison at the NSWRU offices on Thursday - meeting with a referee. The ‘Green-Eyed One' is wondering if last week's referee against Sydney University was present.

Jeff Sayle appointed the new President of the Randwick Licensed club - turning back the times

Randwick Rugby Development Manager Jim Dubos - caught lunching at the ‘Sydney Rowers Club' on Wednesday with family and friends. They were celebrating at 70th birthday; Jim, surely not yours?

The Randwick Rugby Club fitness centre has had three elderly gentlemen training this week. Kevin Phibbs, Allan Hoiles and Damien Maree have been seen each day this week completing a circuit - which includes rowing, biking and lunch at the Dong Dong. So concerned is the Phibbs family that daughter Rebecca came down to monitor the fitness programme on Tuesday.

Warwick Waugh club legend and sponsor gave the speech and presented the jumpers to third grade colts last week

The Randwick Rugby Junior Representatives presentation took place last Saturday after the colts match. Congratulations to Scott and the team who took over the sponsors' tent for the presentation. Former board member Jon Collins was present and mystery ‘Master Chef Contestant' Michael Emery cooked a feast for 1000s.

Last week two ex-rugby legends were seen at Newington watching their sons play in respective under 13 games - Kearns and Poidevin

Another Randwick legend Mark Giacheri - has been seen crossing the harbour bridge over the last two months to coach the Riverview 1st XV as a consultant coach. The team is flying at present under his guidance and are favorites for the GPS championships - another Randwick coach Wade Kelly is the Scots 1st XV coach and they defeated the highly rated Newington 1st XV last week.

A minute's silence was observed for the recent loss and sacrifice of the Australians in uniform in Afghanistan. Randwick Rugby has a long and proud association with the Australian Defence Force.
