Randwick Rugby Club/St Hilliers Scholars The Scholarship is intended to support students undertaking an undergraduate program of study with the Australian School of Business or the Faculty of the Built Environment. The student must also make a significant contribution to Rugby Union at Randwick Rugby Club and will be invited to undertake paid work experience at St Hilliers. They must also represent UNSW at the Australian University Games. Congratulations to the following recipients for 2011 who were presented their awards by Randwick legend, Simon Poidevin last week at the University of NSW. Aidan Anderson Aidan hails from Waverley College and is a very talented athlete and student. As well as playing in the CAS Open 1st XV in 2009 and 2010, Aidan was Australian Champion for his age group in both Javelin and Discus. He was also a member of the NSW U17 cricket squad and a member of the Sydney Roosters, Harold Matthews Cup team. He is looking forward to his Rugby career with Randwick and undertaking his studies in Architecture at UNSW while also gaining valuable experience undertaking work experience with St Hilliers. We look forward to Aidan representing UNSW at the Australian Uni Games in both Rugby Union and Athletics. Kade Astley Kade Astley is a returning Randwick/St Hilliers Scholar this year, hailing from St Ignatius College (Riverview). Kade is undertaking a Bachelor of Planning and Urban Development at UNSW. Unfortunately, Kade suffered a debilitating back injury last May which hampered his Rugby progress at Randwick. We are pleased to say that he did however recover in time to compete for UNSW in the Rugby 7s at the Australian University Games in Perth and help the team to reach the semi-finals, narrowly missing out on a Bronze medal. Kade enjoyed his work experience with St Hillier's and looks forward to developing his practical knowledge and experience in urban development to complement his degree.
