There is a "no pay, no play" rule for 2011. Player Subs must be paid to be eligible for selection in Round 1.

Green flavour to the Sydney and Melbourne teams

The Sydney Rugby Union team makes a long awaited return to representative Rugby this Friday in Melbourne, when they take on the Melbourne "Rebel Rising" team as a curtain raiser to the Rebels v Sharks Super Rugby match at AAMI Park Melbourne.

Coached by Randwick legend and World Cup winning coach, Bob Dwyer, together with Wicks Wonder, Mark Giacheri,  Sydney has named a powerful squad of non-contracted players from the Sydney Shute Shield Premiership Competition.
