Sydney Rugby Union  Shute Shield Premier Rugby Competition 2012

• The 2012 Premier Rugby competitions will commence the weekend 14 April (after Easter)
• A bye will be called after Round 8 (9 June) to schedule the City v Country game.
• A complete 11 rounds will be played concluding on 30 June.
• A bye will be called after Round 11 (possible SRU rep game for the ABCTV Match of the day)
• Rounds 12-16 will be played from 14 July to 18 August.
• For these 5 games Clubs will be split into 2 groups based on Club Championship tables, with Clubs playing each other Club in their group.
• Round 15* will be a split round with 3 games 4 August & 3 games 11 August (unless a previous round has been washed out, in which case Round 15 will be played 4 August, the postponed games will be played 11 August)
• Competition points will accumulate over the full 16 rounds.
• The finals series will be played over 4 weeks from 18 August with the Grand Final to be played 15 September.
• The format for the finals will be based on an 8-team elimination series over 4 weeks.
• The Grade competition will follow the same format as Premier Rugby.
• The Colts competitions will mirror the Premier Rugby draw except Round 15 will be played 4 August and Round 16 on 11 August.
• The Colts finals series will commence 18 August and conclude 8 September (1 week earlier than Premier Rugby)

Please note that the ARU have a fan day and afternoon test match on June 23rd and have requested no rugby be played. The ABC are investigating their position for that weekend.

In regards to trials please be aware that the Waratah Fan Day is on in the precinct on Saturday 24 March from around 12:30pm/1pm prior to the 3:30pm Waratahs v Sharks game. Referee availability may be limited.
