International Defence Rugby 2011

The Galloping Greens in camo kick-off at Victoria Barracks at midday Thursday 13 October to take on the Royal Air-Force. The Australian Services Rugby team are competing in the inaugural International Defence Rugby Competition and there is certainly a myrtle-green flavour to the team with a number of Randwick boys in the squad including galloping greens Jason Harrington (C) and Ben Jones (VC) leading the charge. If the ASRU boys triumph on Thursday they will take flight for Auckland and progress to the semi-finals of the tournament. ASRU is undefeated thus far but are yet to face opposition from the strong British Army, Navy or Air-force teams. Last weekend ASRU took on the PLA team from China and came away victorious.
