Colts Reunion Saturday 3rd July

A very successful re-union of Randwick Colts past players was held last Saturday  at Coogee Oval during the Randwick versus Sydney University game.

Led by Val Tyson (former  Randwick Colts coach), players from the 1977 to 1983 Colts teams  organised to meet at Coogee Oval  to rekindle old club and team friendships - some from up to 33 years ago.

It wasn't only players attending - coaches, managers, ball boys, doctors, club officials, parents and even a few supporters from those Colts days came along. More than 100 past Randwick personnel were there to enjoy a near full strength Randwick club win three grades on the day, and enjoy some super Randwick Rugby  from the first grade side.

A dinner at the Rugby Club followed and was enjoyed by almost 60 revellers.

Val Tyson  is still getting e-mails from the attendees praising the day and talking about how they met with players from decades ago and thoughoughly enjoyed the experience...and want more!

Tyson, who lives in Bowral,  said he had great support from Tony Lewis at the Football club and Matt Curtis and Rob from the Licensed club which made organising the event from a distance much easier.

Val  and the "Old Colts" are planning more, smaller get togethers at Waratah matches and Test matches  as well as at Coogee for home games. "Now that we are back in touch with each other, we  aim to keep the connection"  Val said.
