First GradeRandwick v Manly Loss 19-33 The Randwick 1st grade team dominated territory and possession, and with an abundance of opportunities to score, the first grade team was unable to convert possession into points. Manly capitalised on our errors and we gave the game away. Ultimately the difference between the teams was the confidence and resilience Manly displayed in defence whilst Randwick lacked continuity and confidence. The team will view the match as a learning experience and are looking forward to an improved performance against Sydney University this weekend at Coogee Oval. 3 points to Nick Cummins, 2 points to Atonio Halanghu and 1 point to david Viser. See below video of try by Tom Tombleson Second GradeRandwick v Manly Win 38 - 15 A convincing win to second grade, continuing the good form of recent weeks, with this weeks win the fourth in a row. The forwards dominated the opposition with their powerful scrum, line-outs, and mauling and this provided a good quick go forward ball for the backs. In the backs, Toby Browne, John Tamanika and Danny Kroll had strong games and with their skill and pace were able to make inroads into the Manly defence. This led to some excellent attacking Randwick tries. Special mention also for Jack Tovey and his great performance at open side and Matthew McKay who has scored a try in each of the last three games. Third GradeRandwick v Manly Win 27-12 Our third graders continue to dominate the competition table and are at the top after this weeks hard fought victory over Manly. Whilst the game appeared tight until half time, the third graders superior experience, fitness and strength wore Manly down in the last twenty minutes of the game. Once again, powerful forwards play via scrummaging and mauling enabled some excellent team tries. Fourth GradeRandwick v Manly Win 27-14 Our fourth grade team put in a strong performance to beat a tough Manly side at Manly. As usual some great back led tries and a solid team effort drove the team to victory. The highlight of this match was the tackle of the day by Tom Weber as he "poleaxed" Manly's John Hopoate, driving him back ten metres and pounding him into the ground. Of equal note was Nathan ‘Coma' McMahons niggling attack of Hopoate in the ruck. Nathan was last seen speedily running away from an angry Hopawati! 3 points to Simon Tonacia for his selfless act of playing prop in a contested scrum for the first time as a result of an injury, 2 points to Nathan ‘Coma' McMahon and 1 point to the flying winger Andrew Wing Kee. ColtsFirst GradeRandwick v Manly Win 46 - 31 After two previous losses it was great to see 1st Colts return to winning form with a memorable performance against a strong Manly outfit at Coogee Oval. Our front row of Betham, Kesby and Roach dominated the advantage line allowing the boys to attack with width and depth. The last twenty minutes was no doubt the turning point when all players, 1 - 15, stepped up a gear to dominate the opposition, producing two great team tries to seal the win. The six tries earned the team a valuable bonus point in the hunt for a semi-final spot. 3 points to Zeb Holmes-Baer for all the hard work on field and great improvement, 2 points to Mark Koteczky and 1 point to Jesse Roach. Second GradeRandwick v Manly Loss 10 - 29 A hard day on the field for our second grade Colts who lost to a strong Manly outfit. Injuries both prior to the game and during the game put Randwick at a disadvantage. In true Randwick style however, the team lifted its efforts and did the club proud.
